    The gallery can be adjusted before uploading images in the WordPress dashboard / Settings / Media (WP 2.7) or Miscellaneous (WP 2.6). Be sure to uncheck the ‘exact dimensions’ checkbox as described at: How to Make Your Gallery Post Look Good. Then your images will appear in a gallery correctly with an attractive aspect ratio and proper sizing.
